Bondi Junction tragedy community support funding
Grant recipients announced
Following the tragic incident at Westfield Bondi Junction on 13 April, Woollahra Council has announced recipients for one-off projects and initiatives through its Community Grants Program. Successful recipients Lifeline Eastern Suburbs - Bondi, Art of Living Foundation and Bondi Beach Cottage will now be supporting the health and wellbeing of the community with the assistance of the grant funding.
On 29 April 2024, Council resolved to allocate a total of $20,000 to its Community Grants Program for use by local eligible registered charitable organisations with one-off projects and initiatives that will support the health and wellbeing of the local community, following the critical incident at Bondi Junction on Saturday 13 April 2024.
Council acknowledges the grief and loss felt in our community and would like to help fund projects that can assist with short and long term recovery, healing and support.
Applications must:
1. Be from local eligible registered charitable organisations
2. Offer psycho-social support to address the health and wellbeing of the Woollahra community in response to the critical incident at Bondi Junction on Saturday the 13 April 2024, through the provision of trauma informed service and in the form of either: individual, group or community support or development and delivery of resources.
3. Have demonstrated experience in delivering improved health and wellbeing through trauma informed services
4. Be able to deliver the service by 31 December 2024.
Please note that the total funding available under this specific funding program is $20,000 and Council will consider the suitability of applicants against the above-mentioned criteria, whilst endeavouring to ensure equity of funding across the area to relevant organisations.
