Our Council is opposed to the proposed forced amalgamation of Woollahra with Randwick and Waverley Councils. We submitted a formal submission to the Council Boundary Review Public Inquiry detailing our concerns about rate increases, the lack of community benefits, overwhelming community opposition and potential loss of representation and local identity. We legally challenged the Government's conduct of the Public Inquiry. We are now appealing a Land and Environment Court judgement. Read more about our appeal.
Woollahra councillors unanimously rejected the NSW Government's proposed new boundaries that will amalgamate the Woollahra municipality with Waverley and Randwick. The proposed merger will mean the people of Woollahra will lose their voice in a much larger amalgamated council.
