Current Heritage Studies

Our Community Strategic Plan Woollahra - 2030. Our community, our place, our plan presents a long-term vision for Woollahra. The respect and enhancement of heritage complements and retains local character of our suburbs, villages and neighbourhoods.

The protection of Woollahra's heritage, including significant architecture and the natural environment is a key theme in the local planning priorities of the Woollahra Local Strategic Planning Statement.

The Strategic Planning team is currently undertaking a series of heritage studies and assessment of various properties across the Municipality.

In November 2021, Council endorsed the Heritage Gap Analysis(PDF, 4MB), which aimed to identify gaps in Schedule 5 and identify opportunities for improvement in Council’s planning instruments and heritage management policies through a proactive rather than reactive approach to heritage conservation.

Finalised Heritage studies completed by Council

Schedule 5 of the Woollahra LEP 2014 is the result of over 40 years of strategic planning work undertaken collaboratively by Council staff, heritage specialists, Councillors, volunteers and other interested parties to research, identify and protect Woollahra’s heritage.

Many heritage studies have been undertaken by Council over time.
