All majors works have been completed. Final linemarking will be completed as soon as possible, dependent on dry weather. 


As part of Woollahra Council’s 2024/25 Traffic Capital Works Program, Council are undertaking the installation of a shared zone at Albemarle Lane, between Albemarle Avenue and Wilberforce Avenue, Rose Bay.

Stage 2 works, involve the installation of a shared zone. The shared zone aims to improve pedestrian safety. Works include; the installation of a street print; raised thresholds; new signage and line-marking.  

To minimise impacts to the adjacent school, stage 2 work is scheduled for the Easter school holidays. Work will commence on Monday 14 April 2025 and is due for completion within 2 weeks (weather permitting).

They will be carried out between 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday, and 7am - 1pm on Saturday. 

Stage 1 works, which included an upgrade to the stormwater system, to improve stormwater flow and minimise flooding, were completed in January 2025.

 

 

As part of Woollahra Council’s 2024/25 Infrastructure Works Program, Council is upgrading the road and drainage system in Cambridge Avenue, Vaucluse (between Palmerston Street & Hopetoun Avenue).

These renewal works will improve the road, sections of footpaths, kerb, gutters and drainage in the area. Additionally, pedestrian usability and safety will be improved with the installation of new pedestrian access ramps at the intersections.

The works involve; upgrading drainage by installing new kerb inlet pits and laying new pipelines; renewing sections of footpath, kerb and gutters; installing new pedestrian access ramps; and renewing the asphalt road pavement. 

The work is scheduled to start on Monday 19 May 2025. It is expected to take 4 - 6 weeks to complete (weather dependant).

The works will be carried out between 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday, and 7am - 1pm on Saturday.

 

20 May 2025 - Project Update - the works have been delayed as a result of the recent wet weather. The work is now expected to be completed in the next 3 weeks. 

As part of Woollahra Council’s 2024/25 Infrastructure Works Program, Council will be installing a Gross Pollutant Trap (GPT) at Collins Avenue, Rose Bay, in front of the laneway opposite Percival Park.

The GPT will capture and remove pollutants from the existing underground stormwater pipeline, which will help to keep Rose Bay Beach and Sydney Harbour cleaner. Once installed, the GPT will not be visible.

The work is scheduled to begin in autumn, starting Monday 7 April 2025. It is expected to take approximately 4-6 weeks to complete (weather permitting). The works will be carried out between 7am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Following the completion of the GPT installation, Council will also renew the asphalt road pavement at Collins Avenue. Separate notifications and site signage will provide further details on this work. 

 

As part of Woollahra Council’s 2024/25 Infrastructure Works Program, Council is installing a new pedestrian crossing on Glenmore Road, at the intersection of Heeley Street, Paddington.

This work will improve pedestrian safety and amenity.

Works include: installation pedestrian crossing, line marking and associated civil works.

The work is scheduled to start on Monday 2 June 2025 and should be completed within 2 weeks (weather permitting).

The majority of construction work will be conducted at night, between 8pm - 4am to comply with Transport for NSW regulations, which indicate that Glenmore Road is classified as an arterial road. As such, Transport for NSW has only given approval for certain work to be undertaken at night.

However, there will also be limited day works, which will be carried out between 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday, and 7am - 1pm on Saturday.

As part of Woollahra Council’s 2024/25 Infrastructure Works Program and in association with the Active Transport Plan 2023, Council is undertaking works to reduce vehicle speed limits in streets in Rose Bay Centre.

This includes streets such as Wilberforce Avenue, Richmond Avenue, Newcastle Street, Dover Road, Norwich Road, Caledonia Road, and Ian Street, Rose Bay.

These high pedestrian areas were identified for upgrade in our Active Transport Plan in 2023. One of the aims of the 10-year plan is to deliver attractive, vibrant and safe walking locations for pedestrians, especially in our centres.

Works include; installation of new 40km/hr speed limit signs, speed limit pavement marking and street print threshold treatments to denote the High Pedestrian Activity Areas (HPAA).

The upgrades are scheduled to start on Monday 26 May 2025 and should be completed within 6 weeks, weather permitting.

Most of the works in the street will be carried out between 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday, and 7am - 1pm on Saturday. However, localised night works will be carried out between 8pm and 4am to comply with Transport for NSW regulations for those sites in close proximity to New South Head Road, which are classified as arterial routes.

This includes streets such as; Queen Street, Victoria Avenue, Halls Lane, Moncur Lane, Moncur Street, Dorhauer Lane, Spicer Street, Holdsworth Street, Alton Street and Ocean Street, Woollahra.

However localised night works will be carried out at the ends of Queen Street and Moncur Street, between 8pm and 4am, to comply with Transport for NSW regulations, which state these streets are classified as an arterial route. 

 

19 May 2025 - Project Update - the majority of the pathway has been upgraded. However, there is a small section of pathway that has not been completed as an adjacent stormwater repair is required. This additional work is due for completion by the end of May 2025. This small section of pathway will then be finished, (weather permitting).

As part of Woollahra Council’s 2024/25 Infrastructure Works Program, Council is undertaking works to replace the existing footpath along the seawall at Rushcutters Bay Park, from the bridge crossing at the City of Sydney side of Rushcutters Bay Park to the Cruising Yacht Club Australia (CYCA).

The works will involve replacing the existing asphalt footpath with concrete to remove existing trip hazards and the deteriorating footpath.

The work is scheduled to commence on Monday 7 April 2025 and will be completed within 3 weeks, weather permitting.

The works will be carried out between 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday, and 7am - 1pm on Saturday.

9 May 2025: Project Update

Works have been delayed by the recent inclement weather. They are now expected to be completed by the end of May 2025, weather permitting.

As part of Woollahra Council’s Play Space Strategy 2023 Program, Council is upgrading the playground in Spring Street Reserve, Paddington.

The new playground will consist of a range of new play elements for younger children along with some fun and relaxing activity spaces for older children and adults, including upgraded landscaping and furniture.

The work is scheduled to commence on Wednesday 12 February 2025 and will be completed in 4 weeks, weather permitting.

The works will be carried out between 7am - 4pm, Monday to Friday.

The playground will be barricaded off for the duration of the works, to ensure the safety of workers and the public. Parking within Spring Street will also be restricted between the hours of 7am - 4pm, Monday to Friday to allow the project to be delivered safely.
