There is always a lot to think about when organising an event - be it a kids’ birthday party, a family celebration, business networking function, community catch-up, workshop or seminar. But now there is one less thing to worry about. The newly renovated Sherbrooke Hall, one of Woollahra Council’s community venues, ticks all the boxes for an all-weather, fully accessible event venue.

Here are a few reasons why Sherbrooke Hall is the perfect place to hire for your next event.

1. Sherbooke Hall is newly renovated

Sherbrooke Hall, located on the ground floor of the Hugh Latimer Centre in Double Bay, has recently undergone an access upgrade and looks sparkling new and ready to welcome guests. The hall was refurbished with a brand new accessible bathroom, an internal ramp and store rooms. In addition, the existing bathrooms and kitchen were given a makeover. Projector facilities and a screen were also added.

2. Fully accessible

One of the major benefits of the recent refurbishment of Sherbrooke Hall is that this venue is now fully accessible. There is accessible parking in the carpark adjacent to hall. There is also level access into the hall and access throughout the venue. There is also an accessible toilet and ramp access to the kitchen and storage room.

3. Spacious indoor and outdoor facilities

The indoor area of Sherbrooke Hall boasts a very spacious, multi-use zone. The hall is split level,  featuring polished wooden floors as well as a built-in stage, perfect for performances or presentations. Two steps and a ramp lead up to the upper level which features the accessible toilet and access to the kitchen and the storage room.

Sherbrooke Hall is next door to Foster Park Playground. This is a fully-gated, wonderful, compact playground, packed with interactive equipment and water play. The kids love the monkey bars, the wooden slide structure, large sand pit and boardwalk paths. There is also seating and shade for sunny days.

Easy access to the playground makes Sherbrooke Hall a perfect all-weather kids’ party venue as you can make use of both the indoor and outdoor facilities. Please note that Foster Park is a public area, and hiring of the hall does not permit exclusive use of the playground. In addition the playground is available for general public use after 3:45pm in the summer months and on weekends throughout the year.
