Reports from the community can play an important role in investigating and responding to pollution incidents.
If you notice sewage in a waterway or overflowing from any structure:
If you notice water pollution such as sediment, paint or chemicals in a local waterway or see someone dumping rubbish or garden waste into or near a waterway:
When reporting water pollution try to have the following information ready:
- Location
- Time and date
- What the pollution looks and smells like
- Whether you witnessed the pollution incident first hand
- Your contact details
