Bush tucker walks

A number of Bush Tucker walks take place in the warmer months every year in the Woollahra Municipality. The events are hosted by expert Aboriginal horticulturalist Terry Lennis and supported by Woollahra Council.

These award winning guided walks take place in and around Nielsen Park, and are produced in partnership with Bush Tukka Dreaming. They provide an opportunity to discover native plants and foods (tastings when in season) and explore Indigenous cultural sites in the local area.

The Bush Tucker events are suitable for people of all ages, however there are steps involved in the walks.

Terry Lennis has put together a document with a list of local native plants, some which you will see on your walk! Download your copy below - you might like to print it out to bring on the walk.

What others say about the Bush Tucker Walks:

I just wanted to let you know how informative, interesting and fun I found the bush tucker walk on Saturday morning. The bush tucker tasting was great - actually very nice food (I'd expected grubs!) and a great location on a rock overlooking the harbour.
