Child abuse - of any kind - is a crime

Promoting child protection in our community is a priority.

Reporting

If you believe a child or young person is in immediate danger or in a life-threatening situation, contact the Police immediately by dialling 000.

If you suspect a child or young person is experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, harm or neglect contact: the Child Protection Helpline on 132 111 (TTY 1800 212 936) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You do not have to be certain that the abuse or neglect is happening. Community Services provides information on making a report. Also check questions about reporting for further information.


Support and information

Eastern Sydney Community Services Centre

A local Community Services Centre with responsibility for ensuring the provision of appropriate services and support to Eastern Sydney families in crisis. Suitable for children at risk and families in crisis.

Barnardos Temporary Family Care

Offers short-term care for those children under 12 whose families are going through troubles or breakdown.

24 hour telephone support service offering information, referral and ongoing support to those affected by child abuse, concerned about the welfare of a child, or needing family or parenting support.
