Council has a strong commitment to community safety and crime prevention. Council addresses these issues through its Community Safety Committee.
Community safety
The Community Safety Committee is a partnership between Woollahra Council, Rose Bay Police Local Area Command, residents, local community organisations and local businesses. The Committee's work is governed by Terms of Reference (PDF) that have been endorsed by Council.
Crime prevention
Council's roles in crime prevention include: designing out crime; addressing the social causes of offending; coordinating safety strategies in partnership with others; and the promotion of crime prevention awareness.
