About the work
Title: Embark
Artist: Lucy Irvine and Geoff Farquhar-Still
Material: Stainless steel, copper clips
Location: Lyne Park, Rose Bay
This artwork is inspired by patterns, systems and rhythms found in nature. The sculpture is both a dramatic and intimate addition to Lyne Park: echoing the line of the fig trees, allowing glimpses of the water and shimmering against the sky. Rose Bay is both idyllic and dynamic, and the artists have aimed to capture a sense of the harbour comings and goings as well as those slower moments of wonder. Embark was commissioned by Woollahra Council’s Public Art Panel in 2018.
