History

The Drill Hall had been the site of navy use and administration for much of the twentieth century. In 1979, the site was transferred from the Commonwealth to the State. In 2000, the Drill Hall was the headquarters for sailing events for the Sydney Olympics and Paralympics. Post Olympics, Woollahra Council assumed responsibility for the site and is committed to ensuring that broad community use is applied for the space, based on outcomes of extensive community and stakeholder consultation.
