Voltaren City2Surf is being held on Sunday 10 August 2025. The event is sold out.

Road and lane closures and Special Event Clearways will be in place between Sydney CBD and Bondi Beach on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 August 2025 for the 14km City2Surf fun run.

Up to 90,000 runners will participate, including elite wheelchair athletes. Voltaren City2Surf is organised by the Ironman Group and in its 55th year of operation in its normal function.

The start area is located at Hyde Park. The start line is located on William Street just east of College Street, Darlinghurst. The event starts at 7:35am and finishes by 2pm when the last participant crosses the finish line at Queen Elizabeth Drive, Bondi Beach.

The route proceeds from William Street through Kings Cross Tunnel, then follows Bayswater Road, New South Head Road, Old South Head Road, Military Road, and Campbell Parade to Queen Elizabeth Drive. View course map

Road closures and event clearways

Major roads along and surrounding the 14km course from the Sydney CBD to Bondi Beach will be closed.

• Roads around Hyde Park near the start line will close from as early as 3:30am
• Roads between the City and Edgecliff will close from 6am
• Roads between Double Bay and North Bondi will close from 7am
• Roads around Bondi Beach near the finish area will close from 6am

Roads in the city reopen first around 11:30am and roads through the Eastern Suburbs reopen progressively from 1pm, 2pm and opened by 4pm in Bondi.

To ensure the event course is clear of vehicles special event clearway parking restrictions will be in effect on both sides of the 14km course and on detour routes and streets surrounding the course.

Special event clearways are strict no-parking zones which apply to all vehicle types, and to local residents and TfNSW Mobility Scheme Permit holders.
