Revised controls for 488-492 Old South Head Rd and 30 Albemarle Ave

On 25 July 2025, the Woollahra LEP 2014 and Woollahra DCP 2015 were amended in relation to 488-492 Old South Head Road and 30 Albemarle Avenue, Rose Bay. The site comprises the following lots:

  • Lot 1 DP 1009799
  • Lot 30 Sec B DP 4567

The amended LEP controls will allow a higher density, mixed-use development on the site.

The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, as the local plan making authority, finalised the planning proposal and the Woollahra LEP 2014 (Amendment 42) came into effect on 25 July 2025, being the day it was published on the NSW Legislation website.

A draft Woollahra DCP 2015 (Amendment No. 27) was approved by Council on 8 July 2024. The draft DCP introduces site-specific controls for the site. The Woollahra DCP 2015 (Amendment No. 27) has been published on Council’s Development rules page and is also in effect.
