Program Information

This free, all-day program takes over Woollahra Gallery with art workshops, music, and refreshments for all ages. Presented by Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Co-operative and featuring Rubyrose Bancroft and Nadeena Dixon, the event centres storytelling, cultural memory, and hands-on creativity. Visitors are invited to engage in drawing, textile-making, and collaborative activities in a welcoming, intergenerational setting.

Ripples Workshop - Ruby Rose Bancroft

This workshop will guide participants in drawing inspiration from the natural landscapes of Birrabirragal land, where the gallery is located. Rubyrose will demonstrate her process of observing natural patterns and details, and how these observations inform her unique meditative line work.

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and explore creative expression through Rubyrose's insightful techniques. This workshop will be an enriching experience for all attendees.

Workshop times:

10am - 12pm (no booking required)

1pm - 2pm (no booking required)

Guardian Owl Workshop - Nadeena Dixon

Join Gadigal Artist and Master Weaver, Nadeena Dixon, for an owl making textile workshop! In this workshop you will create your own guardian owl to take home. You will be creating your own designs on fabric that you can then sew together to make your owl and add accessories. The owls are based on dolls that were made in the Redfern community when Nadeena was a kid. The protector or guardian owls act as a messenger of spiritual teachings and cosmology. All materials provided. Ages 12+
