Artist Expressions of Interest

LibraryReturnsArt.jpg

Woollahra Libraries is seeking artists (Sydney region preferred) to design artwork for our next series of tote bags. Fine line illustration is preferred, though we welcome a range of creative approaches.

We are also inviting EOIs for a special commission to mark Woollahra Library at Double Bay’s 10th anniversary in 2026. Artists interested in this opportunity are encouraged to indicate this in their email.

Discover past creative commissions that can be seen throughout Woollahra Libraries.

What we’re looking for

  • Original artwork suitable for single or two-colour screen print on fabric
  • Strong, clear line work that reproduces well at tote scale

Express your interest

Email libraryevents@woollahra.nsw.gov.au with:

  • Your ABN
  • A link to your portfolio or attach 3–5 recent samples (PDF or PNG)
  • A short introduction and any relevant experience

EOIs will be reviewed as they are received. Selected artists will be provided with the design brief and specifications in order to prepare a quotation.

Commission, usage and timelines

  • A commission fee will be provided, confirmed once the brief and scope are agreed
  • Artwork may be used by Woollahra Libraries to promote the tote and the Library
  • Production timelines will be shared in the brief
  • EOIs close 30 September 2025 or until the commission is filled

Selection

Assessment will consider artistic style, suitability for purpose, budget, and alignment with the Library’s brand and community.

File requirements

If selected, final artwork will need to be supplied as vector files (AI, EPS or SVG) with fonts outlined. We’ll provide colour specs and print area in the brief.
