Kiaora Reserve & Epping Reserve - New Pathway & Timber Play Elements

Council’s contractors will be undertaking improvement works in Kiaora Reserve and Epping Reserve, Double Bay in August and September 2025.

A new decomposed granite pathway will be constructed in Kiaora Reserve between the Sydney Water pumping station and the carpark adjacent to the Forest Road intersection. Interactive log stations will be installed alongside the new pathway, and in Epping Reserve to provide opportunities for informal play and informal seating. 

Works include:

  • A new decomposed granite path within the grassed area of Kiaora Reserve.
  • Tree works in Epping Reserve including tree pruning and removal of dead Robinia and overgrown Gymea Lilly.
  • Two replacement trees to be planted in Epping Reserve.
  • New landscaping and replanting garden beds in Epping Reserve.
  • Three timber play elements in Kiaora Reserve.
  • Three timber play elements in Epping Reserve.

Tree works and landscaping preparation works will commence in Epping Reserve from 20 August 2025.

The pathway works in Kiaora Reserve are scheduled to commence on Monday 1 September 2025. All works should be completed within 3-4 weeks, weather permitting.

The scheduled works will be carried out between 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday, and 7am – 1pm on Saturday.
