Bird identification tips for beginners
Thursday 23 July, 6.30 - 7.45pm - webinar
Join birding guide Renee Ferster Levy as we discover how to identify the birds found in our local bushland, parks and backyards. You will learn:
- how to identify birds from their shape, colour, call, location and behaviour
- where to look for birds around Woollahra and Sydney
- what apps, books and other resources are available for support
- how to add your sightings to citizen science projects.
As this is an online event, all participants will need access to good internet.
Saturday 8 August, 1.00 - 3.30pm - webinar
Join us for a fun and informative session where you will receive free, one-on-one advice from leading strata sustainability experts who can provide advice about making your unit and your building’s common areas more sustainable.
This event is designed for local apartment owners and renters as well as building managers who are seeking sustainable solutions for building common areas.
Choose the topics and speakers that interest you including: energy efficiency, electric vehicle charging, installing solar, water efficiency, common property projects, waste management and strata law for sustainability initiatives.
Places are strictly limited and only available to residents of Woollahra, Waverley and Randwick councils. Please register early. As this is an online event, all participants will need access to good internet and a computer with a camera and audio.

Have you ever noticed litter on our beaches or seen a beach closed because of pollution? Have you wondered what the pollution is and how it got there?
Join us on Zoom and follow Marine Biologist Will Jones as he explores the hidden creeks, drains and waterways from Bondi to Rose Bay.
We’ll learn how scientists measure water pollution and whether pollution is linked to birds, dogs or humans.
Help Will discover:
- what the pollution is and where it comes from
- some of the things being done to keep our water clean
- what more we can do to keep our harbour beautiful and protect the creatures that live there.
Who should join? This Science Week webinar is suited for families with kids from around 8-12, but everyone is welcome to join.
