Is a booking required for social sport?

Yes, a booking is required if you are setting up a sports field for a social game of sport. This includes bubble soccer and laser tag.

 

Can I only book half a field?

No, we only approve full field bookings.

 

Does my permit include exclusive use of the sportsground?

Yes, members of the public or other groups are not permitted to use any available spaces of the sportsground during your booking.

 

What happens if it rains before or during my booking but the fields are open?

To find out if a ground is closed, check the Sportsground Status page for updates or call the Wet Weather Line on 02 9391 7916 for a recorded message. Signs may also be placed at the grounds. If there is a wet weather event after these updates are provided, the onus is on the hirer to check the field of the following before starting their booking:

  • surface water present
  • water rises to the surface when walking across the surface (this indicates soil is at its saturation point)
  • surface is slippery to walk on, or grass surface is dislodged easily

 

Can I access the field before my booking time to set up?

No. We often allocate bookings back to back. Your booking time must include any time you need to set up the field before training/competition begins as well as any time required to pack up after.

 

Are there changerooms or toilets?

All sportsgrounds have public toilets available. The following sportsgrounds have changeroom facilities:

Access to changerooms is provided upon application. Additional fees may apply.

 

Are there canteen facilities?

The following sportsgrounds have (basic) canteen facilities available for hire (additional fees may apply)

 

Can I play music or have a DJ/band?

Amplified music is not permitted i.e. instruments connected to speakers. Some events may be approved with special conditions.

 

Can I set up a marquee during my booking?

Marquees and other temporary structures are permitted in some of our parks depending on the footprint. Approval is required.

 

Can I set up an amusement device?

Yes, amusement devices are permitted in many of our parks. Approval is required
