Use the EPA website to find the best authority to notify about a wide range of pollution incidents and other environmental concerns.

Call 000 to report major pollution incidents

If you observe a major pollution incident that presents an immediate threat to human health or property, such as toxic fumes or a large chemical spill, call 000 to report it to emergency services. As first responders, Fire and Rescue NSW, the NSW Police and the NSW Ambulance Service are responsible for controlling and containing incidents.

Water pollution

Air pollution

For air pollution related to a specific location/property such as domestic wood fires, backyard burning, smoke or odour contact our Customer Service team.

Noise complaints

Clarify the times noise can be made from building work or power tools and what you can do about disturbing noise.

Tip: Make sure you note the date and time of the dumping, vehicle plate number (if any), location/address and the type of rubbish that was dumped. Photographs of the dumping are also helpful.
