Our Action Plan

Woollahra Council has long been committed to protecting our environment, operating as sustainably as possible, and taking action on climate change.

Our Environmental Sustainability Action Plan(PDF, 3MB) helps us:

• Reduce greenhouse gas emissions and water use, and adapt to the impacts of climate change.
• Protect and enhance biodiversity.
• Improve the quality and health of our waterways.
• Reduce the amount of waste generated and sent to landfill.
• Support our community to live more sustainably.

All our plans and strategies undergo a process of public consultation to allow the community to have input into the way our extensive natural resources and spaces are managed. The key documents guiding our environmental action are:

• Environmental Sustainability Action Plan 2023-2028(PDF, 3MB). This plan details Council’s targets and commitments. 
• Woollahra Biodiversity Conservation Strategy 2025-2035(PDF, 4MB). Objectives, targets and priority actions for biodiversity conservation in addition to those listed in our Environmental Sustainability Action Plan.
• Woollahra 2032 Community Strategic Plan(PDF, 14MB). Our long term vision for Woollahra, identifying community priorities and strategies for their achievement. 
• Woollahra Council Annual Reports. Recent reports provide updates on progress towards our targets.
