What you can borrow
Library items may be borrowed for the following periods of time.

You'll need to bring your library card with you to borrow.
Renewals
Most borrowed items will now renew automatically, as long as they are eligible. This means your items will extend for the maximum renewal period available to them, without you needing to take any action. We’ll notify you when an item can no longer be renewed and needs to be returned.
Items will not renew automatically if:
- another member has placed a reservation
- the item is part of a non-renewable collection (e.g. Ready Reads, Fast Flix)
- your account has $20 or more in outstanding charges
- the item is already overdue by several days
Overdue Items
Woollahra Libraries no longer charges overdue fines. If your items become overdue by more than a few days, your member privileges will pause until the items are returned. Once all items are returned, your account will reactivate automatically.
Reservations
If the item you'd like is already loaned by someone else, it is possible to reserve this item.
Reserve online
- Search for the item in the catalogue
- Select the item you require from the search results
- Click the 'Reserve' button Note: If the item is available, place a reserve and the library will put it on hold for free.
- Enter your User ID (your library card number) and Password (default password is your date of birth ddmmyyyy) and click 'Login'.
- Click 'Proceed' button to confirm the reservation.

Fees
Reservation fees are non-refundable. Please pay on your next visit.

- Seniors, Pensioners and Children - $1.80

Can't find what you're looking for?
Members can request materials that are not available in our collection through an inter library loan from other public libraries, universities, or specialist libraries.
We welcome your suggestions for items to purchase and add to our library collection. All requests are considered within our Collection Development Guidelines.
