Free rehearsal spaces for HSC students

Are you preparing for an upcoming HSC practical performance exam and looking for somewhere to rehearse?

Woollahra Council is offering free rehearsal space for HSC students at selected Council venues from 25 August to 18 September 2026.

The initiative follows Council’s recent work to strengthen opportunities and support for local young people, including feedback and ideas raised through our inaugural Youth Summit and the launch of our Online Youth Hub.

Whether you’re rehearsing a drama performance, practising music or preparing with a group, a range of Council spaces will be available for you to hire for free!

When and where can I rehearse?

Free rehearsal spaces are available at:

Mondays: Cooper Park Community Hall, 3pm-7pm
Tuesdays: The Cultural Hub, 3pm-7pm
Wednesdays: The Cultural Hub, 3pm–7pm; Sherbrooke Hall, 10am-9pm
Thursdays: Sherbrooke Hall, 10am-9pm
Saturdays: The Gunyah, 9am-9pm

How to book

• A parent or guardian must complete the online booking form and supervise the rehearsal if the student is under 18.
• Rehearsal space is provided free of charge, subject to availability and Council's conditions of hire(PDF, 276KB).
• Submitting the form does not guarantee a booking. Our Venue Hire team will confirm your booking by email within three business days.
• Bookings are available until 18 September 2026, so get your rehearsal time locked in and make the most of these free spaces before your HSC performance.
