Young people across the Woollahra local area are invited to celebrate NSW Youth Week, a national event recognising the creativity, energy and contributions of young people aged 12 to 24.
Running from 16 - 26 April 2026, Youth Week provides opportunities for youth to connect, express ideas, showcase talents and take part in a wide range of community activities.
This year’s theme, "Dream. Dare. Do.", encourages young people to dream big, be courageous and take positive steps towards their goals.
To celebrate Youth Week, we are hosting a series of events, giving local young people the chance to connect with friends, learn new skills and celebrate creativity. From hands-on workshops to social activities, the program offers something for everyone.

Calling all Young Creatives
We have two exciting opportunities for young photographers, videographers and writers in Woollahra. These competitions highlight the many ways young people can express their ideas and creativity - whether through art, film or writing.
The Woollahra Young Writers' Award is a local community award celebrating and encouraging the voices of young people. High school students aged 12 - 18 years who live or study in Woollahra or neighbouring areas are welcome to submit their piece of writing. Winners of each category will receive a cash prize of $300 and a one-hour mentoring session with the judge of their category. Shortlisted entrants will receive a literary prize pack.

The Woollahra Youth Photographic Award & Short Film Prize celebrates the creativity of high school students from Year 7 to Year 12 in the local area. Running since 1994, the competition has showcased a broad range of images and short films from thousands of students over the years. With cash prizes totalling more than $2,000, this annual event is a local celebration of creative expression by our talented young people.
