Broadleaf Bindii and Weed Control Program 2026

Woollahra Council is preparing to undertake its annual Broadleaf weed and bindii eradication program at parks, reserves and sports fields throughout the Woollahra Municipality.

Council is specifically targeting bindii before seeding in early spring to minimise the impact of bindii for park users and their pets during summer.

Treatment will commence on Monday 17 August 2026 (weather permitting).

Duration of works is scheduled for 7 working days however Council allows up to a 28 day timeframe in case of unfavourable weather conditions.

A selective broadleaf herbicide will be used.

The works will be undertaken by LIVING TURF NSW, a highly regarded and fully certified company used by many Sydney Councils and Woollahra Council over a number of years.

Local notification signage will be erected prior to sites being sprayed as part of our Pesticide Notification Policy.

Council staff will be supervising spraying application on site and providing information to the public if required.
