Online development applications via the NSW Planning Portal

From 1 November 2020, Woollahra Council will only be accepting online Development Applications (DAs), including Section 4.55 Modification Applications and Section 8.2 Review Applications via the NSW Planning Portal. For more information please visit the NSW Planning Portal website

How do I lodge my DA online?

Step 1.Register on the NSW Planning Portal

Create an account with the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Industry through the NSW Planning Portal to create an account to submit your application.

Step 2.Prepare your documents

You’ll need to provide supporting documentation when lodging an application. Check the Submission Matrix to ensure you have everything required. In addition to the documents specified in the Submission Matrix, you will need to:

Submit your development application through the NSW Planning Portal.

If your application is incomplete, you'll receive feedback via the Planning Portal.

Step 4.Fees and payment

  • Once your DA is accepted, Council will upload a payment request to the Planning Portal.
  • Fees are outlined in Council’s Fees and Charges.

Step 5.Registration of the development application

Your application is formally accepted by Council once the completeness check has been done and the fees have been paid.
