Message from the Mayor

Cr Susan Wynne

It is an honour and privilege to be re-elected to the role of Mayor serving until September 2023. I am so looking forward to working with my colleague and friend, Councillor Shapiro as Deputy Mayor and all the Councillors serving our community.

Woollahra has been my home for more than 20 years and holds a very special place in my heart, having brought up my two girls, Sasha and Chloe here as well as now sharing this beautiful place with my puppy, Teddy.

The last two years have been challenging to say the least and at the time of writing this, we are still faced with an uncertain future on many levels. A key focus moving forward will be to ensure we continue to protect our community and support them and our local businesses to not just survive but thrive.

I remain passionate about environmental protection and it was wonderful to celebrate Woollahra Council being certified carbon neutral in August 2020. There is still much to do and my hope is that Woollahra Council leads the way in local government when it comes to protecting our environment.

Our website provides lots of information on what we do. I encourage you to sign up for our free monthly e-newsletters so you don’t miss out on local events and major project updates and you can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

Every resident is represented by three ward Councillors, the wards being Bellevue Hill, Cooper, Double Bay, Paddington and Vaucluse. If you have local issues you want to share with them I suggest you reach out to them via email.

By working together we can make sure Woollahra will always be the best place in Sydney to live, work, visit and play.
