We are pleased to announce that we have opened up eight new areas for off-leash dog walking across the Woollahra Local Government Area, with five more on the way.

As part of the changes, we've also added some new locations to walk your dog on a leash, and we've extended the hours for some of our popular off-leash areas.

New off-leash dog walking locations

We listened to community feedback through extensive consultation and after careful review of your requests to consider more locations and changes to existing rules, the following previously on-leash or no-dogs areas are now off-leash:

  • Camp Cove Reserve, Watsons Bay
  • Cooper Park (upper amphitheatre)
  • Percival Park, Rose Bay
  • Signal Hill Reserve, Vaucluse
  • Woollahra Ovals 2&3, Rose Bay (3.30pm - 10.30am)
  • Robertson Park and Beach (between Yacht Club and Ferry Wharf) (3.30pm -10.30am)
  • Steyne Park Sportsfield, Double Bay (5pm - 8.30am)
  • Moncur Reserve, Woollahra (3.30pm -10.30am)

We are also extending off-leash dog walking hours at Lower Cooper Park, Lough Playing Fields, and Dumaresq Reserve.

We are also allowing dogs on-leash at three new locations:

  • Tingira Memorial Park, Rose Bay and adjacent beach,
  • Derby Street Reserve, Vaucluse
  • Murray Rose Pool in Double Bay to the café level.

More spaces for our furry best friends

"We’ve listened to feedback from local dog owners who want more spaces to take their best friends, and we’re pleased to announce these new off-leash dog walking locations," Woollahra Mayor Sarah Dixson said.

"Five more off-leash areas that we’ve approved will require some playground fencing upgrades to make sure they’re safe and appropriate for local children, and we will share details on these locations in the coming months once this work is completed.

"Until then, happy walking and please read on for a full list of all the great options in Woollahra."
