Royal Australian Navy: Exercise Kakadu Fleet Review

The Royal Australian Navy will host the Exercise Kakadu Fleet Review on Sydney Harbour on 21 March 2026.

This significant event will commemorate 125 years of Australia’s naval service, marking a milestone in the nation’s maritime history.The Fleet Review will represent the largest assembly of foreign warships in Sydney Harbour in over a decade, with up to 30 ships expected to participate from Australia and international partners and allies.

Event program:

• 6am – 12pm: Ceremonial entry of ships into Sydney Harbour  
• 2pm – 4pm: Review of International Navy Fleet  
• 2:45pm: Aerial display 
• 3:45pm: Ceremonial Gun Salute  
• 6:45pm: Historical flotilla procession

The Exercise Kakadu Fleet Review will be the flagship event in a series of events hosted by the Royal Australian Navy in 2026. The events will celebrate 125 years of Australia’s Navy and how our strength at sea contributes to the security and prosperity of Australia.  

The last International Fleet Review was held in2013 toc ommemorate the 100th anniversary of the entry of the first Royal Australian Navy fleet in Sydney Harbour, on 4 October 1913.

With the reviewing officer embarked, HMAS Leeuwin will proceed past all ships receiving a ceremonial salute during the route. While the majority of ships will be alongside berths or at anchor, one column of ships will sail through the main channel, passing HMAS Leeuwin as they proceed west toward the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
