How you can get involved
There is not enough available space on public land for us to plant enough trees and reach 30% canopy cover by 2050 so we're calling on you to plant trees too! We’ve set an ambitious target of 5,000 new trees to be planted on private land by 2050.
There are many ways you can get involved
• Plant a tree at home.
• Be our eyes and ears on the ground in two important ways:
1. See a spot. If you identify space either on a verge or elsewhere, request a tree to be planted there.
2. See something suspicious? Say something. If you see the removal, poisoning or harming of a tree on public land, let us know! Report vandalism to our Tree Management Compliance Officer as soon as you witness it on 93917000 or records@woollahra.nsw.gov.au. If you can provide evidence like photos, videos or the number plates of vehicles, even better. To successfully prosecute offenders we need evidence, hearsay is not enough.

- Connect with nature and your community for National Tree Day on 26 July. You can plant trees, shrubs and grasses to enhance your neighbourhood. For more info, visit our National Tree Day page.
- Notice a spot to plant a tree at your Woollahra workplace or school? Council may be able to assist in the planting - contact us at ufs@woollahra.nsw.gov.au.
- Spread the word! If you're part of a community group or if you're speaking with neighbours, be sure to mention the Urban Forest Strategy. After all, increased tree canopy cover will benefit all those who live and work in the Woollahra local area, as well as future generations.
