Anzac Day Wreath Laying Ceremony

The Woollahra community is invited to join our Anzac Day wreath laying ceremony at the Steyne Park cenotaph.

Council’s Anzac Day Wreath Laying Ceremony at Steyne Park is a chance to honour the original ANZACs – the Australians and New Zealanders who fought on the shores of Gallipoli and in Europe during World War One. It is now a day to remember all those Australians who have experienced the horrors of the Second World War, and wars, conflicts and the peacekeeping operations that have followed and are ongoing. Anzac Day has become an occasion to honour all who have worn our country’s uniform in service.

You are welcome to bring a wreath to lay. Rosemary will be supplied to those who wish to take a moment to reflect and remember.

2026 Anzac Day Writing Competition

Mayor Cr Sarah Dixson would like to invite local primary and high school students to enter the 2026 Anzac Day Writing Competition and submit their original stories and poems. The winners’ stories will be read at the wreath laying ceremony. Entries close 29 March 2026.
