What's on during National Science Week

National Science Week (9 - 17 August) is Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology.
The week features more than 1,000 events around Australia, delivered by universities, schools, research institutions, libraries, museums and science centres.
Woollahra Libraries are jumping on board and will be hosting a number of fun science themed events for all ages.

Come to the French Market in Moore Park and meet scientists making groundbreaking discoveries, with a French Flair as the Australian French Association for Research and Innovation Inc (AFRAN) collaborates with Le Marché French Markets. Come and meet Fleur Ponton and ask her about how she uses fruit flies to understand nutrition, learn from Max Desservattaz about the world of bushfires, Etienne can tantalize you with tales of immunology and genomics, ask Fabien Plisson about how AI can work with Pharmacology, and let Clément Canonne show you how cool algorithms and computing science really are.

Join us on Sunday 17 August for Science in the Swamp - a FREE family fun day out at Centennial Park!
Loch Avenue South will transform into a pop−up village of scientific wonder this National Science Week, with live science shows, hands−on experiments, native animals and over 30 stalls to explore.
Don’t miss the life-sized roaming dinosaur and your chance to meet real-life scientists at this special event.
