Phones used to be all about making calls, but now your mobile can do so much more. Owning a tablet means you really can take your computer with you wherever you go. The range of new touchscreen smartphones and tablets allows you to access the internet, use social media, get live news updates, play music and video, and much more. They almost universally use touchscreens for control, however, which can be a challenge for people new to the technology.
In this two-part workshop, you will learn the basics of how to navigate your way around a smartphone and tablet with a touchscreen. You will learn how to turn the phone on and off, make and receive calls and add a contact. You will also learn about apps, what they are, how to download them, and the costs associated with them.
