Message from the Mayor 3 August 2022

A welcome sustainability initiative
Sustainability, reducing our emissions and protecting the environment is a key priority for Woollahra Council, so it was a pleasure to help launch a fantastic new sustainable initiative at Woolworths in Double Bay.
Woolworths has partnered with Pact Group to boost circular packaging, which could see up to 18,000 tonnes of new plastics recycled into more sustainable food packaging. The scheme will use recycled plastic to make more sustainable packaging for products like milk bottles and meat trays, drawing from plastic collected from household recycling and container deposit schemes – a great result for the environment.
With Adrian Cullen, Woolworths Head of Circular Packaging Solutions, Pact Group CEO Sanjay Dayal, NSW Environment Minister James Griffin, Rob McCartney, Woolworths Director of Format and Network Development and Gabrielle Upton, Member for Vaucluse.
