To improve pedestrian safety and amenity in the local area, we are proposing a new 40km/h High Pedestrian Activity Area (HPAA) in the Double Bay commercial centre.

The proposal includes rezoning the existing 50km/h speed limit in the nominated area to 40km/h, providing entry threshold treatments and signage to notify of the High Pedestrian Activity Area and the 40km/h speed limit.

The image below details the location of the High Pedestrian Activity Area and entry/exit treatments.

This proposal will result in no loss of legal on-street parking spaces located in the Double Bay commercial centre.

We have secured funding from Transport for NSW under the Road Safety Program for this project.
