Supporting local small businesses

Did you know there are more than 9,200 small businesses operating within the Woollahra Municipality?

They are the heart and soul of our area and a vital part of the community. They have been hit hard by the pandemic, but together we can help support them by shopping locally.

It has been a pleasure getting out and about recently to talk to local small businesses about their needs and how Council can assist, and also letting them know about the new 30 minute free parking scheme we have introduced in Double Bay and Paddington.

Council is keen to continue the support we have already offered to small businesses through our $5 million support package launched in March and extended in August, and this starts with finding out their priorities which will help inform our response.

We want to know the best way for Council to communicate with our small business owners, so I encourage all owners to jump online and complete our short survey. All responses will have the chance to win a 1 hour free business coaching session.

We are also launching a new round of Placemaking grants, with funding of up to $3,500 available, and hosting a webinar series with topics including Thriving Through Change and Leading Through Uncertainty.

Find out more about small business support and take our survey by 30 October.

COVID-safe app

Contact tracing is one of the most powerful tools to stop the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

The Service NSW app now features a COVID-safe QR code which offers customers a contactless, hygienic method of checking into businesses so you can be contacted if an outbreak occurs.

The app automatically captures date and time of check-in, and stores the info securely for 28 days only. Visit the Service NSW website for further details and to download.
