Gallery coordinator Sebastian Goldspink talks about the volunteer opportunities available at the Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf
Published 31 May 2021
Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf is preparing to open its doors and we’re looking for enthusiastic and passionate volunteers to help us bring the gallery to life for visitors.
This exciting addition to the cultural landscape of the eastern suburbs sees a reimagining of a much-loved 122 year old house overlooking Blackburn Gardens at Redleaf as a dynamic and engaging arts and culture space.
On the site of the former Woollahra Library, the Gallery will feature a diverse and ever changing exhibition program showcasing emerging and established artists alongside reoccurring exhibitions including Woollahra Council's internationally acclaimed award for small sculpture, Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize.
Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf seeks passionate volunteers from the community to assist with welcoming visitors to this arts destination. Volunteers will be invited to share the stories of the artworks on display and act as ambassadors for the gallery and its programs.
No previous gallery experience is required, just a love of art and culture and a willingness to be part of the rich and diverse history of creativity in the local area.
Volunteers will undertake a thorough training program and will have regular opportunities to attend exhibition walkthroughs and hear directly from exhibiting artists and curators.
