New rules for pet registration

Published 1 July 2020

The NSW Government has introduced new rules for some pet owners. From 1 July 2020, new rules apply to owners of non-desexed cats, restricted breed dogs, or dogs declared to be dangerous. Owners of these pets will be required to pay an annual permit fee, in addition to their lifetime pet registration fee.

Owners of non-desexed cats, by four months of age, will be required to pay an $80 annual permit and owners of dogs of a restricted breed or formally declared dangerous must pay a $195 annual permit.
