Local clubs harnessing solar
Lyne Park Tennis Centre in Rose Bay is now powered by sunshine thanks to the installation of an 8kW solar system through Solar My Club, a great initiative from the 3 Council Regional Environment Program, a collaboration between Woollahra, Waverley and Randwick Councils.
Its 27-panels will enable the centre to produce free green energy on-site to power its facilities, substantially reduce their electricity running costs and avoid 8 tonnes of carbon emissions annually, which is equivalent to taking 3 cars off the road each year.
Launched following the success of our award-winning Solar My School initiative, the program offers free support to clubs and community organisations in the eastern suburbs to install solar.

High praise for Woollahra Preschool
Council is committed to providing a high-quality curriculum that helps to lay the best possible foundations for children through our Woollahra Preschool, which I am so proud to report has received a rating of ‘Exceeding the National Quality Standard’ for early education and care services as part of the National Quality Framework Assessment process.
The rating follows very busy period for the Preschool, which recently expanded with the opening of a new playroom and welcoming of an additional 40 children in October.
Congratulations to Woollahra Preschool Director Mary Boyd and her team.
Proposed Vaucluse parking changes
The NSW Government is proposing to implement parking changes on New South Head Road between Clairvaux and Captain Pipers Roads in Vaucluse.
This would involve the installation of ‘No Parking Motor Vehicles Excepted’ signage to improve visibility and safety when larger vehicles, such as boat trailers, are parked, and increase available car parking on New South Head Road by 65 spaces.
You can provide feedback to Transport for NSW via email by Sunday 30 May.
