Message from the Mayor 13 January 2021

I know we are all hoping 2021 brings a little more certainty and as we look to the year ahead, I want to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best for the New Year.

Cooper Park heritage listing

I am delighted to announce that Cooper Park in Bellevue Hill is now listed as a Local Heritage Item. The park is a significant space and importantly this listing will protect it for generations to come.

With its natural creek, cascading waterfalls and fern-filled forest, it’s easy to forget it’s located in an urban area, while features including extensive walking tracks/paths, sheltered picnic areas, a kids playground, and tennis and cricket facilities mean it also provides our community with a range of options for recreational activities.

Council is working to ensure that in future, the Park is listed as a State Heritage Item, which will provide an additional level of protection.

Find out more about the ongoing protection now provided for the natural, landscape and built elements that make up this wonderful space.
