There are so many fun events happening during the Autumn school break. From stop motion animation, clay craft fun, movies and so much more. And best of all, they're really affordable and some are even free!

School Holiday events at the Library: 13-21 April

Come along and enjoy our exciting events at Woollahra, Paddington and Watsons Bay libraries, where you can get involved in cartooning, stop motion animation, clay modelling, movies and more. Find out more and book.

Animate-A-Mate Drawing Workshop

Animate-a-mate Cartoon Drawing Workshop (5-9 yrs)

Join Toon Creations these holidays and discover how to make your own cartoon characters as well as draw cute animals, treats and popular cartoons. Take your drawing skills to the next level. No experience required. All materials provided.

Friday Flicks: Rise of Gru

School Holiday Fun: Minions Rise of Gru [PG]

Keep your April animated - with this family Friday flick. Rejected by his supervillain idols, 12-year-old Gru sets out to prove his despicable nature with the help of his bumbling team of Minions.

Libraries in the Park

Libraries in the Park, Centennial Park

Woollahra, Randwick, and Waverley Libraries are celebrating the Spark Truck, our shared library outreach truck and we want you to join the party. Bring along a picnic blanket and join us for lots of fun outdoors. There will be plenty of games to play, craft to enjoy and storytime sessions to delight and so much more. This event for families with children of all ages but most suited for those with kids aged 0-5 years. It is weather permitting and may be cancelled at short notice due to inclement weather.

Model Making Craft

School Holiday Fun: Animate-a-mate - Model Making Craft (5 - 12 yrs)

Animate a mate or so much more! Create a small clay model of a loved one, maybe a small pet or a curious creature of your own design. This craft session we create a small air dry clay model that can be used in your own stop motion film projects at home, or as a lovely little gift or keepsake. All materials provided.

Animation Workshop

School Holiday Fun: Animate-a-mate - Animation Workshop (5 - 12yrs)

Work as a team to storyboard, design, and create in this fun filled animation workshop. Using clay and stop motion film technology, learn how craft, edit and create your stop motion film creation. All materials provided.

VR Play with Nested Realities

Youth Week: VR Play With Nested Realities (11+ yrs)

Get ready for an immersive and exciting virtual reality experience at our VR Pop-up Play. All you need to bring is your curiosity and creativity and Nested Realities will guide you through the experience. You'll have the chance to explore virtual worlds and games while learning about the technology behind it.

VR Art with Nested Realities

Youth Week: VR Art Class with Nested Realities (11+ yrs)

Step into a world of endless possibilities and unleash your creativity with our virtual reality art workshop. Led by experienced VR artist and facilitator Jane Venegas, this workshop will provide you with the knowledge to use virtual reality and create 3D masterpieces in a digital canvas.

It will also introduce you to the exciting world of VR and the powerful Tilt Brush tool, allowing you to create and manipulate 3D shapes, add textures, lighting, and create animations.

Friday Flicks: Puss and Boots

School Holiday Fun: Friday Flicks - Puss in Boots The Last Wish [PG]

Share the love of Puss in Boots – the furry fairy tale cat who returns as a swashbuckling, fear-defying feline. Puss has burned through eight of his nine lives. Getting those lives back will send Puss in Boots on his grandest quest yet.

Youth Week Manga

Youth Week: Manga Character Creation with Matthew Lin (11+ yrs)

Celebrate Youth Week with experienced Anime artist Matthew Lin, who will guide you step by step and help you bring Manga characters to life. Learn the basics of manga anime illustration and develop a character for your own anime stories.

With programs suitable for all needs, there’s something for everyone these Easter holidays at Centennial Parklands. Skateboarding clinics

School Holiday Skateboarding Clinics - Lyne Park

Are your kids eager to learn more about skateboarding and build their skills? Join 'Skate Now's' school holiday clinics at Lyne Park Rose Bay!

These group lessons are perfect for kids of all skill levels, from complete beginners to intermediate riders looking to improve their technique.

Accredited instructors will teach the fundamental skills involved in riding a skateboard, and the supportive environment is designed to help kids build confidence as they learn.

With an emphasis on safety and fun, we provide all the necessary equipment for the clinics, including skateboards and protective gear. The 2-hour clinics are packed with exciting activities, from basic riding techniques to learning cool tricks and mastering skatepark obstacles. Plus, your child will have the opportunity to make new friends and become part of our supportive skateboarding community.
