There are so many fun events happening during the Autumn school break. From drumming and dance to jungle craft and Dungeons and Dragons! We have activities to suit children of all ages these school holidays.

School Holiday events at the Library: 11-22 April

Come along and enjoy our exciting jungle-themed events at Woollahra, Paddington and Watsons Bay libraries, where you can get involved in jungle craft, African drumming and African dance workshops; and for older children zentangle drawing and Dungeons and Dragons events. Find out more and book.

Some library activity highlights include:

Jungle Craft (5-8yrs)

Come and make some wildly creative jungle - themed craft projects to take home. Make a frog fly catcher game and other crafty creatures using cardboard rolls and a variety of other recycled goodies. All materials are provided.

Jungle Craft

School Holiday Fun African Jungle Dance (5-9yrs)

Get up and groove to the rhythms of Africa. Explore jungle beats through an interactive African presentation of body, vocal percussion & dance. Join in and learn about the language of movement & music and its ability to unite people regardless of race, religion or age. No prior dance experience is necessary.

African Jungle Dance

School Holiday Fun Online: Zentangle® Drawing Class (10+ yrs)

Find your zen in this introductory Zentangle® technique drawing class led by Lianne Woods (Certified Zentangle Teacher). Zentangle® is the art of creating structured free hand patterns for the sake of art and mindfulness. Learn a range of tangle types, designs and techniques to get creative and unwind in this 2 hour workshop. Prior drawing skills not necessary.

Zentangle® Drawing Class

School Holiday Fun African Drumming Workshop (7–11yrs)

Many stories can be told through music and dance. Explore the role of African Drumming in the sharing of music, language and culture. Beat your own drum to explore the jungle and beyond.  All drums provided no previous experience is necessary.

African Drumming

School Holiday Fun Online: Dungeons and Dragons (10 - 16yrs)

Calling all Dungeons and Dragons enthusiasts new or experienced. Embark on an adventure with our own Dungeon Masters as they lead you through the world of the Forgotten Realms.  Dungeons and Dragons is a real time role play game, where you play fantasy heroes, righting wrongs, exploring tombs and slaying monsters. This will be hosted online. You have 2 hours to complete your quest, register to attend - if you dare.

Dungeons and Dragons

School Holiday Fun: Friday Flicks - Tarzan (G)

Join us for a school holiday screening of the Disney classic 'Tarzan'. Tarzan, an orphan raised by mountain gorillas, rescues a woman explorer, Jane. After realising that he's a human, Tarzan must choose between civilization and the jungle life.

Rockpool Ramble, 19 and 24 April

Discover the amazing marine life in our harbour by exploring rock pools with marine biologist guides. You will get a chance to get close to the animals that live in the intertidal zones along the Nielsen Park foreshore and learn about their habitat. This family-friendly activity is not to be missed!  Suitable for all ages. Children must be at least 4 years old and must be accompanied by an adult.

School Holiday Fun at Centennial Parklands

With programs suitable for all needs, there’s something for everyone these Easter holidays at Centennial Parklands. The action-packed schedule includes an obstacle challenge, Aboriginal weaving class, Bushrangers, Easter egg hunts, art & craft, Astronomy in the park and more. School Holiday Skateboarding Clinics - Lyne Park

Calling all kids who are keen to learn more about skateboarding. SKATE NOW is offering their popular Kids Skate program again, suitable for children 5-13 yrs. This kids skate holiday program is based on gradated learning, skill development and fun!

Are you on the lookout for a new and interesting local venue for a children’s party? We have 11 council venues available for hire. Our venues are reasonably priced, offering a range of facilities, many with kitchens and chairs, and even an outdoor playground!
