Applications for Woollahra Council’s 2021/22 Community and Cultural and Environmental Grants are now open, with funding of up to $7,500 per project available to local community groups, schools and individuals.

Our Community and Cultural Grants Program supports projects that work towards a connected, liveable, vibrant and creative community, and our Community Environmental Grants Program provides assistance to schools and community groups to implement sustainability projects that protect or enhance the local environment.

The grants are offered across three categories:

  • Large Community and Cultural Grants providing funding of up to $7,500;
  • Small Community and Cultural Grants providing funding of up to $2,000;
  • Community Environmental Grants providing funding of up to $2,000.

“Woollahra Council is focused on helping to build social connections, encouraging creativity and increasing sustainability throughout our community, and our grants program aims to provide assistance for local initiatives in these areas,” Woollahra Mayor Susan Wynne said.

“We are grateful to the many people and organisations who have submitted fantastic ideas in recent years, and I am looking forward to seeing more great submissions that will help the Woollahra community to thrive.”

Marika Nabung, President of Rose Bay Community Garden, a previous Environmental Grant recipient, encouraged local organisations to apply for assistance for their projects.

“The grant funding we received enabled us to purchase a rainwater tank to reduce potable water use, which has helped with our sustainable gardening practices and in prioritising these methods when our members are teaching their kids - a great result both for the Garden and the local environment,” Marika said.

Grant applications close on 16 May 2021.
