The 2020 Youth Photographic Award and Short Film Prize is now open for entries.

This annual competition is open to local high school students or high school students living in the local government area.

This year a special category has been added. ‘Strange Days' encourages students to submit photographic responses and observations to our current situation and world in the time of a pandemic. The competition awards cash prizes of up to $2,000, as well as donated prizes from our proud supporter the Australian Centre for Photography.

Entries close on Friday 14 August.

An exhibition of photographs and films will be held between 11 – 20 September (venue to be confirmed).

Please read the entry brochure for all information. Students and/or teachers must submit an entry spreadsheet.

You can enter online or in person. To enter in person, please submit your entry by 4pm, 14 August at reception/customer services at Woollahra Council, 536 New South Head Road, Double Bay.

About the Prize

The Youth Photographic Award and Short Film Prize started in 1994 to provide an opportunity for local high school students to showcase all the great creative talents of young photographers and filmmakers.

Through its 27 year history, Council has exhibited the works of many talented high school students and given the public an opportunity to view these inventive and extraordinary images and films.
