Introduction

Thomas Sutcliffe Mort

23 December 1816 – 9 May 1878

Thomas Sutcliff Mort’s vision and energy drove the foundation of numerous successful enterprises in the colony of New South Wales.  As a businessman and public figure, Mort inspired the sincere esteem of his peers. Locally he is remembered as the generous benefactor of St Mark's Darling Point, and for his own landmark house Greenoaks.
