Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf Exhibition

Throughout the month of June, we will be collecting donations for Lismore Library at all Woollahra Libraries events. Lismore Library was badly affected by the recent floods which devastated the Northern Rivers area in NSW. The library building was severely damaged, resulting in the loss of an estimated 30,000 books, DVDs and other items. To contribute, look for the cash donation box at the next event you attend at our libraries at Double Bay, Paddington and Watsons Bay.

The Heart in Art exhibition is a collaboration between Woollahra Council and First Hand Solutions Aboriginal Corporation to coincide with the National Indigenous Art Fair and NAIDOC Week. The exhibition showcases First Nations artists working in some of the most remote art centres in Australia and provides Sydney-siders with the opportunity to experience the breadth and depth of their practices. The exhibition will include painting, works on paper, sculpture, video and ceramic works from some of Australia’s leading art centres. Visitors will experience a vibrant exhibition housed in the historic Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf.

The exhibition will include a NAIDOC week talk with Peter Cooley the CEO of First Hand Solutions Aboriginal Corporation on Saturday 9 July at 2pm. The exhibition will also provide several professional development opportunities for First Nations arts workers facilitated by Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf Co-ordinator Sebastian Goldspink. The exhibition will also act as a satellite venue for the National Indigenous Art Fair which takes place form Saturday 2nd - Sunday 3rd July 2022 at the Overseas Passenger Terminal.
