The Woollahra School of Philosophy is a forum for the local community to hear from a panel of thought leaders and discuss important ideas.

Join us for this interesting discussion and understand the history, politics and leadership in North Korea.

What do we need to know and understand about North Korea’s global relationships? How might we encourage North Korea to go nuclear free.

For this edition of The Woollahra School of Philosophy we have gathered four of the nation’s experts from four of our finest institutions who will share their insight with us on the evolving situation in North Korea:

  • Assoc Prof Justin Hastings, University of Sydney: specialises in International Relations and Comparative Politics.
  • Dr Leonid Petrov, ANU: has written a number of publications focusing on the socio-economic history and international relations, conflicts and cooperation in Northeast Asia.
  • Assoc Prof Bronwen Dalton, UTS: Director of the Masters of Not-for-Profit and Community Management Program at UTS and is on the Board of the Federation Department of Foreign Affairs’ Australia Korea Foundation.
  • Dr Adrian Buzo, Macquarie University: teachings and research focus on the politics and leadership in North Korea and the making of a modern Korea.

Facilitated by ABC interviewer Michaela Kalowski, this promises to be a very engaging and unique event.

Light refreshments included at 6:15pm for a 6.30pm start.
