Skateboarding Clinics for Kids

Throughout the month of June, we will be collecting donations for Lismore Library at all Woollahra Libraries events. Lismore Library was badly affected by the recent floods which devastated the Northern Rivers area in NSW. The library building was severely damaged, resulting in the loss of an estimated 30,000 books, DVDs and other items. To contribute, look for the cash donation box at the next event you attend at our libraries at Double Bay, Paddington and Watsons Bay.

Skateboarding Clinics for Kids

4 Jul. 2022 9:30 am - 12:00 pmMonday 4 July 2022, 9:30am-12:00pm

Lyne Park Basketball Courts, New South Head Rd, Rose Bay

Skate Now is based on low-risk, gradated learning, delivered with a balance of fun, skill development and safety instructions. The enthusiastic team of instructors are experts at teaching the steps involved in learning to ride safely, in a way children can easily understand and follow.

They support students as they build their skills at their own pace, gain confidence, learn skatepark etiquette and make friends along the way.

Boards and all necessary protective gear are provided, but if your child has their own, please  bring it along (note: they will need to check their equipment is suitable).

There will be two 50-minute beginner sessions starting at 9:30am and at 10:45am.

Beginner Sessions: The beginner sessions will be run on the Lyne Park basketball court which is booked for exclusive use. These sessions are suited for skaters who are just starting out, or have a few basic skills under their belt. After the introduction and check in with each student, students will gear up and run through the signature Skate Now warmup. Students will then move onto practicing skills such as safe pushing, stance, board control and developing awareness of their surroundings. After this stage students can build on their basics and ride beginner-oriented skate obstacles.

This is a COVID safe event, and upon arrival all attendees must check-in at the sign-in table. Parents and spectators are asked to stay outside of the teaching area whenever possible, and if your child is unwell, that they do not attend.

All participants will need to have a waiver completed at the sign-in table, prior to taking part in this program.

General Admission: $35 (for children 5-13yrs)

There are two free car parks, one on Vickery Ave, the other near Rose Bay Boat Ramp.
