2020 Local Government elections – Postponed

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NSW Government has postponed the 2020 Local Government elections to provide certainty to councils, communities and potential candidates. It is the NSW Government's intention that the elections will be held in September 2021. Further updates will be provided as they become available.

Council meetings

Members of the public are welcome to attend Council meetings, normally held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. Find out about the meeting and its procedures.


There are three formal standing committees of Council that meet regularly to discuss a range of issues, applications and proposals. Council also convenes meetings of the Woollahra Local Traffic Committee.

Planning panels

The Woollahra Local Planning Panel and Application Assessment Panel assess and determine development applications.

Working parties and sub-committees

Councillors, Council staff and community representatives are involved in a range of working parties and sub-committees that meet to discuss a range of community issues and projects.

Code of Meeting Practice

All Council and standing Committee meetings are convened and conducted in accordance with the adopted Code of Meeting Practice.

Councillor Voting Register on planning matters

Council maintains a register that records which Councillors voted for and against each planning decision.
