Darling Point

  • Managed entry: Free (Security and Police present enforcing alcohol free zones)
  • Open: Gates open at midday.
  • Toilets: Yes, however no disabled toilets.
  • Access: Managed site entry via main gate on Darling Point Road. Local road closures surrounding Rushcutters Bay and Darling Point.
  • Access for people with a disability: Limited access
  • Alcohol: Alcohol Prohibited Area. Alcohol Free Zones in force on streets and footpaths of Darling Point.
  • Food and beverage: Bring your own picnic. No food or beverage operators.
  • Restrictions: No alcohol. No glass. No camping. No pets. Bring a torch.
  • Parking: Limited street parking only. Use public transport.
  • Local road closures and special event clearways apply to the Darling Point area for New Year's Eve.
  • Wharf information: Darling Point Wharf closes on New Year's Eve after the last ferry. Residents should plan accordingly. The nearest Wharf is at Woolloomooloo or Double Bay. As the park is an Alcohol Prohibited Area, patrons arriving by ferry will not be able to have alcohol on them. They will either be refused entry or Alcohol will need to be forfeited.

  • Toilets: Yes, with accessible toilet facility.
  • Access: Managed site entry via New Beach Road.
  • Access for people with a disability: Yes
  • Alcohol: Alcohol Prohibited Area. Alcohol Free Zones in force on streets and footpaths of Rushcutters Bay and Darling Point.
  • Food and beverage: Bring your own picnic. No Food or Beverage operators. Please stay hydrated. Bring your own drinking water to this vantage point.
  • Restrictions: No alcohol. No glass. No camping.
  • Parking: No street parking. Clearway along New Beach Rd. Use public transport.
  • Wharf information: The Yarranabbe public wharf is closed from midday 31 December 2023 - 2am 1 January 2024 with managed entry only. The nearest Wharf is at Woolloomooloo or Double Bay.
  • Local road closures and special event clearways apply to the Darling Point area for New Year's Eve.

Point Piper

Views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and parts of the city. Very small foreshore location.

Caution: Please note this venue has very limited capacity, it is steep with 94 steps and has no disabled access. It is essential to bring a torch and proceed with caution when moving around this site from dusk.

Bins will be provided at street level. There are no bins on the foreshore level. Please bring a waste collection bag and take your rubbish with you.

  • Capacity: 100. Once capacity is reached the site will be closed.
  • Managed entry: Free (Security present)
  • Open: Gate opens at midday.
  • Toilets: Yes, on street level at Wolseley Road.
  • Access: Managed site entry via Wolseley Rd. No disabled access. Steep access.
  • Access for people with a disability: No

  • Access: Site entry via Caledonian Road. All other access points will be blocked on the night.
  • Access for people with a disability: Limited
  • Alcohol: Alcohol Prohibited Area. Alcohol Free Zones in force on streets and footpaths of Rose Bay.
  • Food and beverage: Bring your own picnic. No food or beverage operators. Please stay hydrated. Bring your own drinking water to this vantage point.
  • Restrictions: No alcohol. No glass. No camping.
  • Parking: Strictly no parking. Use public transport.
  • The site will be closely monitored by police and Security. It may be closed prior to capacity if the enjoyment or safety of patrons is compromised.
