Strickland House

52 Vaucluse Road, Vaucluse

Stickland House is an imposing house, built in 1854-6, overlooking Sydney Harbour.  Its extensive grounds and gardens are open to the public during daylight hours.  The grounds give access to two small harbourside beaches and the Hermitage Harbour Walk, which runs from Rose Bay to Watsons Bay.  There are great views of Sydney Harbour overlooking Shark Island.

Usage of the grounds for picnics depends on other bookings.  New Years Eve, the gates are left open until one hour after the fireworks.  Car parking on the property is prohibited at all times.

Vaucluse House

Wentworth Road, Vaucluse

Built in 1803, Vaucluse House was once owned by William Charles Wentworth.  The House is surrounded by ten hectares of gardens and is available for hire for private functions.
