Nominations are still being sought for the 2009 Woollahra Citizen of the Year Awards, across the categories of Woollahra Citizen of the Year and Woollahra Young Citizen of the Year.
The Awards aim to recognise residents of Woollahra who have demonstrated excellent citizenship and contribution to the people of Woollahra or the wider community.
Many Woollahra residents of all ages voluntarily provide their time and services to the community. Woollahra Council encourages all residents to nominate a community member who, through their efforts has improved the quality of life for others and is a role model for our community.
Last year, Award winners were announced as part of Council’s Australia Day celebrations. A wide variety of community nominations were received with Mr Holmes announced as the 2008 Woollahra Citizen of the Year and Emily Margo as the Young Citizen of the Year.
Nominees for the 2009 Citizen of the Year must be residents of the Woollahra Municipality; however their outstanding contributions may have occurred locally or in the wider community. Nominations for the Woollahra Young Citizen of the Year must be 25 years or under as of the 26 January 2009.
Nominations close Friday 31 October 2008.
